Weevils announce 21-22 men’s basketball schedule

MONTICELLO, Ark. – From the desk of new head coach Chad Tapp the University of Arkansas at Monticello men’s basketball announces its 2021-22 schedule. The Weevils will make two trips to Missouri and host 13 games at Steelman Field House.

UAM opens the season at the Central Region Challenge in Kansas City, Mo. Nov. 13-14. The Weevils will face Lincoln University (Mo.) on Saturday before challenging the defending national champions Northwest Missouri State on Sunday.

The Weevils will open play at Steelman Field House with a two-game home stand hosting Arkansas Baptist Thursday, Nov. 18 and Randall University Saturday, Nov. 20.

In a trip back to Missouri, UAM will compete in the Drury Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Drury University in Springfield, Mo. The Weevils will play the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 23-24, however the opponents at the event are to be determined.

The Great American Conference slate begins for the Weevils in December. UAM is scheduled to open league play on the road against Henderson State, Dec. 2. before hosting back-to-back contests against GAC foes Arkansas Tech (Dec. 4) and Harding (Dec. 11). One week later the Weevils take on Ouachita Baptist on the road (Dec. 18). UAM wraps up the month of December at home against Southwestern Oklahoma State Dec. 30.

The Weevils begin the new year with a home matchup with Northwest Oklahoma State on New Year’s Day. UAM then hits a three-game road stretch with games against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Jan. 6), East Central (Jan. 8) and Southern Arkansas (Jan. 13). The Weevils follow the road slate with a three-game home stand hosting HSU (Jan. 15), Southern Nazarene (Jan. 20) and Oklahoma Baptist (Jan. 22). UAM closes the month back on the road with trips to NWOSU (Jan. 27) and SWOSU (Jan. 29).

GAC-rival SAU visits Steelman Field House to open the final month of the regular season Feb. 3. The Weevils are then scheduled to visit ATU Feb. 3 before returning home to battle ECU (Feb. 10) and Southeastern (Feb. 12). On the final road trip of the regular season UAM is scheduled to face Oklahoma Baptist (Feb. 17), SNU (Feb. 19) and Harding (Feb. 24). The Weevils will wrap up the regular season by hosting Ouachita Baptist Feb. 26 for Senior Day at Steelman Field House.

The GAC Championship Tournament will be held March 3-6. The location of the tournament is to be determined.
