Where did the tomato originate?

NPR’s Venessa Romo recently published an article that Saline River Chronicle thought our readers might find interesting, especially given Bradley County’s connection with the tomato.

But do you know the history of the tomato? Where did it come from? Who first cultivated it? Well, Romo dives into that history in the article. Spoiler alert: Tomatoes are not from Italy.

Go ahead and give the article a read. Click here to check it out.
