Bradley County Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting at Our Place Café on Monday.
Terrie White was elected as board chairwoman, starting in January. James Wells is the outgoing chairman. Also elected as a board member was Julie Hamilton and reelected board members are Maribeth Frazer, JeNelle Lipton and Brooke Hatch. Ron St. John will be chairman-elect and Wells will be vice-chairman. Treasurer is Jane Harris. Hamilton will be special events chairwoman and Frazer will be membership chairwoman.
Wells said Bradley County is still dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. He gave thanks to White for working on membership and ribbon cuttings, and to Debbie Spencer for serving as special events chairwoman.
The monthly financial report was given.
Spencer said she is still working on replacing downtown banners. “We had a great Tent or Treat,” she said. The Grace Cowboy Church Band will play at the Christmas Market on Dec. 11, which will also feature Santa. The Christmas Parade will be held on Dec. 10, including cash prizes for best floats.
Hermitage will have a Christmas celebration on Dec. 4.
This Friday and Saturday, Banks will host its Buck Fever Festival.
Mayor Denisa Pennington reported that she, White and Alderwoman Emily Moseley attended the Retail Academy through an Arkansas Economic Development Commission grant.
Chamber board members approved a $100 donation to the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA in honor of the late John Frazer Jr.
