Hermitage students compete in local spelling bee

Last Thursday, December 2, 2021, Hermitage Elementary and Middle School conducted the local school spelling bee of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The winners of the 2nd/3rd grade competition were Jackie Hernandez (right), first place; Jensen Harrod (middle), second place; and Anderson Rowell (left),

third place; 4th,5th,& 6th grade competition winners were Drake Atkins(right), first place; Jaxon Halterman (left), second place; and not pictured, Kenzie Grice, third place.

At the Middle School competition, the winners were Rayleigh Temple(right), first place; Maddison Gage (middle), second place; and Jaden Sosa (left), third place.

Atkins, Halterman, Temple, and Gage will be competing in the Bradley County Spelling Bee in January.
