Jacks and Eagles battle to close finish

WARREN, Ark. – Warren’s men stayed within striking distance through all four quarters, but fell to the Crossett Eagles at home Tuesday evening, February 8, 2022 by the final score of 50-46.

Lumberjack Malik Day put in an outstanding first quarter, leading Warren with eight points. Crossett got the three-ball going however. They led after the first 21-15.

The Eagle lead was stretched to nine points by halftime, and a further ten points by the end of the third. A strong fourth quarter saw the Lumberjacks cut it close late, but the orange and black would be unable to overcome the deficit. They fell by four points as Crossett took the win with a 50-46 scoreline.

Point guard Malik Day led the Lumberjacks with 13 points. He went five for eight from the line.

Senior Southark commit Isaac Richey came in just behind Day with 11 points.

Jordyn Ingram was yet another Jack to record double digits. He scored 10.

Benjamin Escamilla, Warren’s big man in the middle, posted six. Jalin Lee scored three, Jayzhon McCoy scored two, and Marcus Green score one.

The loss brings Warren’s overall record to 4-14. They now have an 8-4A Conference record of 3-8. Warren’s men are off till Friday when they host Watson Chapel at following the Lady Jack game that starts at 5:00 p.m.
