Lady Jacks earn 12 point road win at Crossett to end action packed week of five games in six days(4K video highlights included)

Crossett, Arkansas – Saturday, February 5, 2022, the Warren Lady Jack basketball team went on the road to Crossett for their fifth game in the past six days, defeating the Lady Eagles by the final of 40-28.

Coming off the back of a loss to conference title contenders Star City Friday evening, Coach Leon Harris’s Lady Jacks arrived focused, sinking four shots from the field in the first quarter. One of those was a Mylesha Yao bucket right as the opening quarter buzzer sounded.

Mississippi College commit Keller Bigham was red hot in the second quarter. She tallied ten points to help Warren to a 20-15 halftime lead.

Bigham’s continued her offensive outing in the third, as she knocked in another four shots from the field. Coupled with four points from Tessa Andrus, the Lady Jacks carried a sixteen point lead into the fourth.

Warren struggled a bit breaking the press late on, but the cushion was enough to see out a decisive victory over Crossett by the final of 40-28.

We’re not sure what the record is, but Keller Bigham’s nineteen games so far this season scoring double figures has to be one of the top achievements of the 2021/2022 Warren High Athletic Department calendar. The senior posted 20 points against the Lady Eagles, all of which came in the second and third quarters. She went two of two from the line as well.

Mylesha Yao was next in line in scoring for the Jacks. She garnered seven in the game. Yao put in a terrific performance overall, also contributing defensively with a couple of steals.

Mahiya Payne put up six points for the Jacks. Two buckets from Payne came crucially in the fourth to help see out the win.

Tessa Andrus scored four and Ana Tinoco netted three.

Warren’s Ladies move to 7-13 overall and 2-7 in the 8-4A. Another chance for a big win will come Tuesday as Warren plays host to their Saturday opponents Crossett. Another win against Crossett could see the Lady Jacks make a move upward in the conference standings.
