Myrtis Lee Douglas, 1955-2022

Myrtis Lee Douglas, 66, of Warren, died February 4, 2022. Born June 26, 1955, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Frankie Wimberly. She worked as a nurse at LA County Hospital in Los Angeles, California for many years before retiring and returning to Arkansas. She received many awards for excellent care for her patients. She was determined and eager to learn different areas in nursing, excelling in her career.

She married Theotis Douglas and was later divorced. To their union one child was born, Yolanda Douglas (whom she called “Landi”)

She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Lee Jones, Willard Faye Childs, Frankie Mae Wimberly and Sandra Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Yolanda Douglas (James Smith, finance’); siblings, Jerry Wimberly of Warren, Gloria Blair of North Carolina; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service was February 12th at Childs Cemetery in Banks with Rev. Silas Warner officiating. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
