WARREN, Ark. – Locals from Bradley County and visitors from around the United States will soon arrive in Warren, Arkansas for the 2022 Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival. The highlight of the each year’s festivities is a live concert on the Bradley County Courthouse square. After two years of scaled back activities due to COVID, 2022 promises to be one of the best festivals to-date.
The 66th Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival Executive Committee is pleased to announce our Saturday June 11th entertainment headliner will be singer-songwriter David Lee Murphy. Murphy is best known for his #1 country hits “Dust on the Bottle” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”, as well as the hit songs “Party Crowd”, “Out with a Bang”, “Every Time I Get Around You”, “The Road You Leave Behind”, and “Loco”. His songs “Just Once” and “We Can’t All Be Angels” appeared on the soundtracks of the films 8 Seconds (1994) and Black Dog (1998), respectively. He has co-written several singles for other artists, including the hits “Living in Fast Forward” for Kenny Chesney, “Anywhere With You” for Jake Owen, “Big Green Tractor” for Jason Aldean, and “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not” for Thompson Square. In April of 2018, Murphy and Kenny Chesney released a studio album together, No Zip Code, which features their hit song “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”.
Opening for Murphy will be singer-songwriter Mary Heather Hickman. Hickman has a classic country sound delivered with an unaffected style which is honest, unflinching, emotional, and gritty. Her dulcet voice highlights the irony, double entendres, and spirited resilience at the heart of her songs, and her cowgirl roots run deep throughout her sassy, irreverent, “Don’t mess with Texas” writing style. She has performed at venues such as AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) and opened for a variety of artists including Justin Moore, Eli Young Band, Hank Williams, Jr., Kellie Pickler, The Oak Ridge Boys, Whiskey Myers, Tracy Lawrence, and Brad Paisley. She currently has a hit single out, “Treasure”. She has just released a new single “Ouachita River”. Hickman has ties to Bradley County and does a lot of her songwriting in lower Bradley County.
