Ella Mae Hampton Webb, 1955-2022

Ella Mae Hampton Webb, 67, of Johnsville, died March 21, 2022. Born January 5, 1955, she was a daughter of Ella Bea Hampton and the late Willie M. Hampton. She was a graduate of Hermitage High School class of 1973.

She married her soulmate Shelton Webb on April 15, 1972. To this union two children were born. Ella and Shelton remarried on April 19, 2014.

Ella’s life was filled with tremendous battles that one day became a glorious testimony and inspiration to many. She dedicated her life to Christ and became a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Eddie Hampton Sr. She overcame addiction that led her to be a dedicated worker for the New Beginnings Casa Rehabilitation Center. She was able to support and be a positive inspiration to her client’s recovery process. She made it her mission to lead and spread the word of God by bringing many of her clients to church on Sunday.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Charlie Dean, Willie Floyd, Elgin, Rosemary; and her grandparents.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Shelton; son, Terrance Webb (Aireace); daughter, Tabitha Webb; grandchildren, Dimitri, Chasity, Joshua, Stefan, Jaylon, Zion, Zan; great-grandchildren, Dakari, Ashton, Dakota, A’Reya, Kai, Zo; mother, Ella Bea Hampton; siblings, Jesse Hampton (Carla), Chris Hampton (Carolyn), Patricia Williams (Charlie), Janice Cook (Dennis); sister-in-laws, Dorothy Washington, Helen Bell, Diane Wilson; lifelong friend, Helen Callum; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was March 26th at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Warren with Rev. Eddie Hampton Sr. officiating. Burial was in Palestine Cemetery in Johnsville. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
