Marvin E. “Bud” Arnold, Jr., 1932-2022

Marvin E. ”Bud” Arnold, Jr., age 89 of Crossett, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at Stonegate Villa Health and Rehab in Crossett, AR. He was born October 31, 1932, in Collins, AR to the late Marvin E. Arnold, Sr. and Rilla Oakes Arnold.

He was owner and operator of Cross-Country Truck Driving for over 50 years and a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church where he was very active and drove the church van for many years. Bud loved his grandkids and great grandkids and just lit up when he saw them coming. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Skyes; infant children, LaDon Arnold and twins Phyllis and Phillip Arnold; his in-laws, Simpie and Obie Young; and sisters-in-law, Mable Sue Young and Maxine Fortner.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Vonnie Ruth Young Arnold of Crossett; his loving children, Clark Arnold and wife Marcia and Carl Arnold and wife Beverly all of Crossett; grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Hammons of Snyder, Heather Arnold of Joplin, MO and Jarrod Arnold (fiancé Katie) of Crossett; great grandchildren, Kaylee Arnold, Falyn Arnold, Maddie Denmon, John Hammons and Garien Watt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Carolyn Andrews and LaWayne and Barbara Young all of Monticello; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Williams and Bro. D.J. Bussell officiating. There will be a brief moment of visitation before the funeral service. Burial will be in 16th Section Cemetery in Possum Valley, AR.
