The Rev. Jim Bales of First Assembly of God gave the message, starting with John 19:34. “The blood of Christ takes away our sins,” he said.

Bales referenced the significance of water and blood coming from Christ’s side when a soldier pierced him with a spear. “The son of God became the lamb of God and the cross became the altar,” Bales said.

“Are we ever more saved than when we get saved?” he asked.

Luci Woodard gave the benediction.

A fellowship meal followed the service. Donations were taken to support the benevolence work of the Ministerial Alliance.

Services will continue at noon Wednesday at Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Barley as speaker and Friday at First Assembly of God with the Rev. John Gaskin as speaker.
