How do God’s people live in a Godless society?

When God called Abraham out of Ur, he made a covenant-a promise-that Abraham would be the father of a holy nation. “I will bless those who bless you and I will place a curse on those who harm you. And all the people of the earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:3)

How would God Bless the world through His people? They would model a way of living that reflected the glory and greatness of God. For this reason they were to live holy, set apart, faithfully honoring the Lord.

Peter gives instructions in 1 Peter 2:9. “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who Calle you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

For the child of God now is the time to stand out, not blend in.

Miller beer, says “enjoy the high life.” Corona beckons, “find your beach.” “Happiest hour,” boasts Jameson Whiskey. “A shot of adventure,” claims Jose Cuervo tequila.

Yet underneath the slick commercials lies an ugly underbelly of alcohol abuse. Excessive drinking takes its toll on bodies, mental health, marriages, friendships, and families.

Don’t fall for it!

Don’t buy the line!

Don’t take the bait!

“The thief comes to steal kill, and destroy, but I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)

So how do God’s people live win a Godless society? Blend in and assimilate? No, this is the time to stand out and stand up! We were made for this moment. Jesus is the answer for the world today! Stand up for God, and He will stand with you.
