Robert Nesbitt, better known as Bob by his family and friends passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR surrounded by his family. He was born November 30, 1932 in Rochester, NY to the late Roy and Ruth Schlick Nesbitt. Bob loved his family and will be deeply missed, but they take comfort in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Union United Methodist Church in Rye, AR. Bob proudly served his county as Airborne 187 in the US Army.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gavin Nesbitt whom he married on July 31, 1967 and she passed away October 17, 2019. Daughters, Elizabeth Ragsdale and Madonna Fox; grandson, Nathan Shawhan; brothers, Vernon Nesbitt and Arnold Nesbitt and sister, Mary Vezelis.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Chavaun Hopkins and spouse Lee; grandchildren, Gavin Shawhan, JJ Freeman, Hunter Feeman and Kayleigh Hopkins. Nieces, Darcy Grande and daughters and Debi Wooding and son and nephews, Craig Nesbitt and Tim Nesbitt along with a host of extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
