Local youth enjoy Great Outdoors Day

The Great Outdoors Day returned to Bradley County Park on Saturday after a two-year absence due to COVID-19.

Cooperative Extension Service agents from Bradley, Dallas and Calhoun counties put on demonstrations for about 125 youths and adults. Door prizes and lunch were provided by L’Anguille Conservation District. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission stocked the pond with 300 pounds of catfish and youths were allowed to fish for a few hours.

Keith Gresham of Dallas County gave a presentation on casting and flipping. Les Walz of Cleveland County spoke about venomous spiders. Jaret Rushing of Calhoun County gave a presentation on knot tying. John Gavin and Michelle Carter hosted the event for Bradley County.
