The AHA met on Zoom for the 20-minute scholarly presentations in lieu of meeting in person, but held its award ceremony and the 81st Annual Conference at the Ferndale Presbyterian Events Center n: Near Ferndale.
The conference theme for 2022 was: “Natural States of Being: Gender and Sexuality in Arkansas History.”
A three-part session entitled “Men on the Make,” included a 20-minute presentation on former Warren resident Harvey Donegan, with research into Donegan’s writing and collections by Tim Nutt, the archivist and researcher for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
The title for Nutt’s part in the program was: “From the Tomato Capital to the Big Apple: Harvey Donegan and the Preservation of the Art, Architectural and Cultural Scenes of New York City.”
Nutt gave the middle of the three presentations which have now been posted on the AHA’s YouTube channel.
The presentation on Harvey Donegan starts about 22 minutes into the program.
Nutt says, “Harvey Donegan is an interesting person, and I’m planning on writing an article for the AHA, about him.”
