The Warren Lumberjack football team enjoyed a very successful 7-on-7 football tournament hosted by UAM Friday, June 3, 2022. There were a number of teams from around Arkansas and Louisiana competing in the tournament. The competition started at 9:00 a.m. and ended later that afternoon.
Warren defeated Drew Central, Lake Village, Star City and a team from El Dorado to win their pool play group. In the second round, the Jacks beat Ouachita Christian, and in the semi-finals defeated Homer, Louisiana. The Lumberjacks came up short in the finals to a team from Shreveport, Louisiana. For the short time this writer got to watch, the Lumberjacks showed great promise at the receiver position and quarterback Maddox Lassiter looked good throwing the ball.
The Jacks should be a serious contender in Arkansas Class 4A and conference 8-4A in 2022.
