This is the third such event, as previous dinners were held in Lake Village and Monticello.

Church members cooked and served a fried fish dinner with all the fixings.

Senior Pastor Matt Overall gave the welcome. T.J. Files and his daughter, Kynlee Files West, sang several songs.

Association mission strategist Joe Day and his wife, Melanie, gave the program. Day previously served in churches in Oklahoma, Kansas and Kentucky. Melanie teaches English, humanities and coaches softball.

Day told stories of how the couple met and about their family.

His main points were:

  • “Communication is a two-way street.â€
  • “Perspective is important.â€
  • “If you are a child of God, you’ve got an inheritance.â€
  • “All you need is love.â€
  • “The focus is Jesus.â€
