Frances Benette Morgan, 1933-2022

Frances Benette Morgan passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Chapel Woods Health and Rehabilitation in Warren, AR. Benette, as she was known to friends and family, was born April 13, 1933, in Tulip, AR. She attended Carthage High School where she was an all-state basketball player and valedictorian of her class. After graduation she married Roy W. Morgan. The couple moved from Hot Springs to San Francisco where their son and daughter were born. They returned to Hot Springs, and after the death of her husband, Benette moved to Houston where she managed a telephone answering service for many years prior to moving to Grapevine, Texas, where she was employed by Beall’s department store. Upon retirement she returned to South Arkansas to be near family.

Benette was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Morgan; parents, Ben and Mildred Kelly; daughter, Deborah Michelfelder; grandson, Christopher John (CJ) Morgan; brothers, James and Van Kelly; and sisters, Betty Chambers, Joy Bane and Gwen Gayer.

She is survived by her son, Roy David Morgan (Teresea) of Bedford, Texas; grandsons, Maxx and Mitch Michelfelder; grandpups, Bebé and PeeWee Morgan; nephew, Michael Bane (Connie); and nieces, Carol Kelly, Cathy Skiles and Celia Bridges.

Graveside service was 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Tulip Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Frazer’s Funeral Home.
