How to apply for disaster assistance for 2022 livestock forage losses

Producers in Drew, Bradley and Calhoun counties are eligible to apply for 2022 Livestock Forage Disaster Program (LFP) benefits on full season improved pasture, annual rye grass, and small grains.  LFP provides compensation if you suffer grazing losses for covered livestock due to drought on privately owned or cash leased land or fire on federally managed land.

County committees can only accept LFP applications after notification is received by the National Office of qualifying drought.  Producers are required to certify their grazing land by July 15.  Late file certification fees will apply.  Producer have the option to enroll in continuous certification enrollment that will carry forward yearly therefore you would not be required to certify every year.

You must complete a CCC-853 and the required supporting documentation no later than January 30, 2023, for 2022 losses. We will need your inventory counts broken down by adults and non-adults over 500 pounds and non-adults under 500 pounds.  Livestock must have been weaned.

For additional information about LFP, including eligible livestock and fire criteria, contact the Drew/Bradley/Calhoun County USDA Service Center at 870-224-7319 or visit fsa.usda.gov.
