Bradley County Rural Fire Department Chief Eddie West said Sunday afternoon that while fire lines have been established and the fire has been contained within them, there are stumps and other brush that may continue burning for days.

Bradley County Rural, County Line, Banks, Warren, Jersey, Pleasantville, Tinsman, Hermitage City and Sumpter fire departments responded Saturday with a total of 11 pumpers, eight brush trucks and three tankers, in addition to three airplanes from Arkansas Department of Agriculture, Forestry Division. Bradley County Rural and Warren Fire Department each provided a truck at Warren Municipal Airport to supply water for the airplanes to make water drops.
There were 71 firefighters (including 21 from Bradley County Rural) and 16 Forestry personnel.
West warned that Bradley County remains under a strict burn ban and South Arkansas is listed as having extreme fire danger. Though it is deer hunting season, no campfires will be allowed nor any outdoor burning of any kind.
He confirmed that this fire started at an outside fire pit. Bradley County Rural also went to three other fires on Friday to provide assistance.
