Ava Russell, daughter of Kristi Gatlling Russell formerly of Warren and her husband, Kevin Russell, won Junior Division Vocal Solo Competition at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock. She is a ninth grader at Southside High School in Ft. Smith and granddaughter of Paul and Sandra Gatling of Warren. Ava advanced to state competition after winning the NW Arkansas Regional competition. She received a trophy and monetary award at both levels.
