City of Warren holds retirement party honoring Helen Boswell

Helen Boswell ended 17 years of service to the city of Warren Wednesday with a reception hosted by city workers.

Boswell worked for Potlatch Corp. for 30 years until 2004. She served as administrative assistant under Mayor Bryan Martin for 14 years. She served as city clerk from 2007 until the present.

She was married to Henry Boswell for 46 years until he passed away in 2018. They have two sons, Tyranny of Little Rock, who has a son, Tyshaun, and daughter, Tyshanna, and Cory, who is married to Sophia, and they have three sons, Aaron, Malik and Trey, and a daughter, India.

Boswell is a member of West Central Church of Christ.

Janice Nelson will be the new city clerk.

Mayor Denisa Pennington noted that both her and Boswell were graduates in the Warren High School Class of 1972. Both also share the same birthday.

“I would have never made it without her,” Pennington said.

Martin noted that in 2005, Potlatch downsized Boswell’s job. She came into Martin’s Department Store while he was running for mayor and he promised her that if he was elected, she could be his administrative assistant.

“I appreciate your sense of honesty and integrity. Helen’s an encourager,” he said.

Boswell said, “I have so enjoyed working with you guys for 17 years. It was a joy and privilege to work with Bryan.”
