Deacon Leandro “Prunt” Childs, 1938-2022

Deacon Leandro “Prunt” Childs, 84, of Warren, passed away November 23, 2022. Born April 18, 1938, he was a son of the late Adelbert Childs and Ada Thomas. He attended school in Banks and Hermitage.

He moved to California at a young age and worked various jobs, including driving trucks throughout southern California. He relocated to Warren, AR. in 1993 and married Alice Kelly. He finished his work career
at Maxwell Flooring in Monticello, AR. and remained there after retiring.

He never gave up after health problems and it was still a familiar sight to pass his home and see him mowing his lawn, changing oil or replacing a spare tire in his condition.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Nathan Callum, Jr.; one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters.

Leandro is survived by his wife, Alice Childs; daughters, Henrietta Collins of Warren, Jerrilyn Childs of Milwaukee, WI., Kathy Tillman of Fresno, CA.; siblings, Walter Thomas, James Callum, Nancy Floyd, Mary
Callum; seven grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was held December 4 at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Banks. Burial was in Childs Cemetery, Banks. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
