DUMAS, Ark. – In their final game of the 2022 Dumas Holiday Classic played Saturday evening, December 17 the Warren Lady Jack Basketball team lost 57-15 to the McGehee Lady Owls.
Warren looked solid defensively early in the first quarter. Senior guard Paris Wright made a terrific block inside the first three minutes. However, Warren’s struggles on the offensive end continued. They recorded just one basket in the first quarter. Aniyah York, who had her game of the year so far on Thursday night knocked down a shot in the first period.

Tessa Andrus followed that up with a three in the second quarter, but that would be all the offense the orange and black to muster in the first half. They trailed the Lady Owls of McGehee 38-5 at the midway point.
The offensive trouble persisted into the third, and although Warren put together a better fourth, as Wright, York, and guard Cherish Dooley each hit a shot, it wasn’t enough. The Lady Jacks fell to 0-5 on the year losing by the final of 57-15 to McGehee to end the Tournament.
Paris Wright led Warren with 5 points and three rebounds. Aniyah York followed her with 4 points and a rebound. Tessa Andrus and Cherish Dooley each posted a 3-pointer on the night.
Warren’s women’s team gets the next week off. They don’t feature again until December 28 in the Drew Central Tournament. That game time is yet to be announced.
