Warren’s new Lumberjack Arena awarded 4A South Regional Basketball Tournament host site

Not only will Warren’s new Lumberjack Arena open for Jack basketball games in just over a week, but the Arkansas Activities Association has announced that the newly constructed home court of Warren Lady Jack and Lumberjack basketball will also be the site of this year’s 4A South Regional Tournament.

Announced just a few days ago, the AAA listed the sites for both regional and state competitions, and Warren was listed as the site for the 4A South Regional Tournament.

It’s a huge get for the Warren School District as it looks to usher in a new era in the history of Lumberjack Basketball, a program with a rich tradition dating back nearly as long as football in the land of tall pines and pink tomatoes. The Tournament is not only an opportunity to showcase Warren’s newly minted basketball stadium, but also is a chance to bring a small burst of revenue to the community over the four-day tournament schedule. Teams from all across South Arkansas will be arriving in town along with family, friends, and fans. Those traveling fans are likely to spend money throughout the community, from purchasing gas from local stations, to eating at local restaurants. The Tournament has the potential to boost local sales as well as introduce visitors to the community who may not have travelled to Warren in the past.

In order to be eligible to host a 4A Regional Tournament, the AAA requires a minimum seating capacity of 1,400. Warren’s new arena is to be able to seat just under 1,900 for basketball games.

Tournament and event hosting have been a big point of interest since the start of the Arena plans.

Warren is one of just three 4A host sites in all of Arkansas. The 4A South Regional Tournament will run February 22 through February 25, 2023 at Lumberjack Arena on Lumberjack Drive on the Warren School District Campus.
