Banks Waterworks announced Friday in a statement that the Department of Health has lifted the recent boil order in the town of Banks that has been in place since the freezing rain storm that caused major power outages around the region.
The Department of Health has released the ‘BOIL WATER’ notice issued on 2/3/2023 by Banks Waterworks for the entire system. This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a complete loss in normal system pressure.
Bacteriological samples taken on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 were found to be ‘safe’ and a satisfactory disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system. The water is therefor considered ‘safe’ for human consumption and the ‘BOIL WATER’ notice is hereby lifted
The boil water order was due to power outage.
