TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Warren High School baseball team opened the 2023 campaign Monday evening at Genoa Central by dropping a 13-3 decision to the Dragons.
The Lumberjacks fell behind early as Genoa Central scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first with two walks coming around to score. The Dragons extended their lead to 6-0 after two innings with three doubles in the second frame and pushed the advantage to 11-0 after four complete innings.

Warren plated three runs in the top of the fifth, highlighted by a Delfino Rivera double, to make the score 11-3. However, the Dragons got one back in the fifth and another in the sixth to win the game by a count of 13-3.
Delfino Rivera led the Jacks at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two doubles. Kolby Pope, Nathan Spears, Delfino Rivera, Ervin Rivera, and Ren Reep all saw action on the mound.
The Lumberjacks are set to take on Fordyce in their home opener tomorrow (Feb. 28) at the Warren Sports Complex with first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
