Post spring break return deals loss to Lady Jacks on the diamond

After Spring Break, the Warren Lady Jacks Softball Team journeyed to Hamburg to challenge the Lady Lions.

In the opening of the game, Ember Johnson from the Lady Jacks singled and then advanced to second on a passed ball. She was, however, thrown out while trying to steal third. The Lady Jacks went down in order. In the next inning, the Lady Lions picked up six runs.

During the second inning, Kailey Henry singled, and Bracy Bickers followed her with a single. Warren left the two base runners stranded, though. The Warren defense held Hamburg scoreless in the bottom half of the inning.

In the top of the third, Paige Byrd and Charlie Wardlaw each singled with two outs, but the Lady Jacks couldn’t bring them home. Meanwhile, the Lady Lions added two runs to their tally, making it 8-0.

Jolie Trussell walked with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, and Heidi Bickers singled, but the Warren offense couldn’t get the ball rolling. In the bottom of the fourth, Hamburg scored seven runs, winning the game 15-0.

For the Lady Lumberjacks, Ember Johnson, Paige Byrd, Charlie Wardlaw, Kailey Henry, Bracy Bickers, and Heidi Taulbee had hits.

Lady Jack center fielder Heidi Taulbee was named the Greg Harton Shelter Insurance Player of the Game. Heidi had two put outs and a hit against Hamburg.
