Severe weather forecast forces cancellation of Warren’s Friday baseball doubleheader

WARREN, Ark. – The Warren baseball team’s games against Jacksonville and Newport scheduled for Friday, March 24 have been cancelled due to severe weather forecast for the area. The National Weather Service is predicting severe thunderstorms, rain, high winds, and a tornado threat.

The cancellation of the games comes as a disappointment for the Warren baseball team, who were looking forward to playing in the 6th Annual Robinson Invitational 2023 Spring Break Jamboree. The Jamboree was a chance for the Lumberjacks to play a couple of more non-conference games ahead of the bulk of their conference schedule.

Warren’s last game was against Star City, where they won 7-3. The team is now focused on their next game on Monday, March 27, where they will face Hot Springs at home. The varsity game starts at 4:30 pm, followed by a junior varsity game.

Saline River Chronicle will continue our all-year, all-sports coverage of Lumberjack Sports starting Monday as the Jacks return from spring break.
