Honda collides with freightliner April 6 near Warren

WARREN, Ark. – On Thursday, April 6, 2023, at around 2:05 pm, a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 278 and Bradley 32 in Warren, Arkansas. According to Arkansas State Police report, a 2012 Freight Liner out of Kingsland, Arkansas, and a 2019 Honda Civic/CRX, del sol, collided at the intersection.

The driver of the Freightliner was reportedly uninjured, while the Honda Civic had five individuals onboard, including the 18-year-old male driver from Warren, an 18-year-old female passenger from Pine Bluff, and an 18-year-old male passenger from Warren. There were also two minors in the car.

The official Arkansas State Police reported states that due to the driver of the Honda Civic’s “inattentive driving and failure to yield the right of way,” the vehicle entered the path of the Freightliner. The front of the Honda Civic collided with the front left portion of the Freightliner, causing the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise before coming to a final rest partially in the westbound lane and shoulder of United States Highway 278. The Freightliner continued eastbound for a short distance and came to a controlled stop partially in the eastbound lane and shoulder of United States Highway 278.

Emergency services responded promptly, with the police arriving at the scene at 2:10 pm. The injuries sustained by the occupants of the Honda Civic required medical attention, and they were taken to the Bradley County Medical Center for treatment.

The Arkansas State Police, the Warren Police Department, and the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department were on the scene at the time of our reporter’s arrival.

At final rest, the Freightliner was facing in a northeastern direction, while the Honda Civic was facing in an eastern direction.
