Jaunice Cooper Cruce, age 75 of New Edinburg died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her home. She was born October 19, 1947 in Gassville, Arkansas. She formerly operated the H&R Block office in Fordyce.
Jaunice is preceded in death by her mother, Marie Horne Hodnett; step-father and close friend, Jim Hodnett; father, Lowell Cooper; daughter, Brechin Marie Wells; brothers, Billy Wayne Cooper, Ernest Grace; and friend and mentor, Samuel Thomas. She is survived by her husband of forty years, Charles Cruce of New Edinburg; brothers, Doyle (Nancy) Cooper of Independence, MO, R. L. Cooper of Melbourne; sister, Retha (Wayne) Blankenship of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Corey Henry and Ashley Burkholder; and five great grandchildren.
