Lady Jacks drop Tuesday game to Star City

WARREN, Ark. – The Lady Jacks softball team returned to action on Tuesday evening, playing host to the Lady Dogs of Star City.

In the top of the 1st inning, Star City scored four runs to take an early lead. In the bottom of the 1st, the Lady Jacks’ Ember Johnson walked with one out, and Charlee Wardlaw singled. Bracey Bickers followed with an RBI double, but Warren left two runners stranded. After one inning, Warren trailed 4-1.

Star City picked up one run in the top of the 2nd inning. The Lady Jacks went down in order. The score was Star City 5, Warren 1.

Star City exploded for six runs in the top of the 3rd inning. Warren’s Paige Byrd led off the bottom of the 3rd with a lead-off double. With two outs, Bracey Bickers singled, but Byrd and Bickers were left stranded. After three innings, Warren trailed 11-1.

The Lady Dogs padded their lead by scoring four runs in the 4th inning. Warren went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the inning.

In the top of the 5th inning, Star City tacked on three more runs. With two outs, the Lady Jacks’ Ember Johnson reached on an error. Charlee Wardlaw followed with an RBI single to score Johnson. The Star City Lady Dogs came away with the 18-2 win.

For the Lady Jacks, Paige Byrd had a double. Ember Johnson had a single and scored both runs. Charlee Wardlaw had two singles. Bracey Bickers had a double and a single.
