The first half was a real tussle as both teams found a few chances at either end, but neither could convert. At the break, things remained level at 0-0.
Hamburg struck quickly after the restart. After some sustained pressure, the Lady Lions took advantage of a couple of corners, floating an effort into the netting on the second.
Warren became a little quiet offensively. The Lady Jacks struggled to find much success in the final third.
A really encouraging sign, though, was the play of Navarro at keeper. She made a big save in the 64th minute, another in the 66th during a one-v-one scenario. Her play kept the Lady Jacks in the game until late on when Hamburg again scored from a corner. Navarro earned Que Lindo Michoacan honors for her outstanding performance.
Warren’s Azul Garcia was forced to exit for a time late in the match with what appeared to be cramps or calf issues.
Warren lost 2-0 at the full-time whistle.
The result brings Warren’s overall record on the season to 4-5. The Lady Jacks are now 3-3 in the 4A East Conference. They are not set to feature again until April 20 at Crossett. Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm.
