Warren city ordinance amended regarding burning

The following is an announcement from the City of Warren:

The Warren City Council recently amended the city ordinance regarding burning within the city limits. Existing law requires a permit from the Warren Fire Department prior to any outdoor burning.

  1. For a permanent permit a resident or business should contact the Warren Fire Department at 870-226-8302. To secure a permit that can be used regularly, a permanent barrel or structure to burn in must be setup in a safe location and follow certain procedures as dictated by the Fire Department.
  2. For a one-time permit, call the Fire Department at 870-226-8302 and talk to the Fire Department prior to burning. The permit will require a safe location, a usable water hose available on site and someone to monitor the fire.
The amendment to the ordinance prohibits any burning in street ditches, public right of ways, and on city streets. Never burn without notifying the Warren Fire Department, even if a permanent permit is in hand.
NEVER BURN WHEN A BURN BAN IS IN EFFECT.
