The following are the full minutes from the May 9, 2023 Hermitage School Board meeting:
The Hermitage Board of Education met in a special called meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 6:00 pm in the Board Room. The following members were present: Russell Richard; Kevin Reep; Mary Hamilton; Gary Vines; David Wilkerson; Reia Thomas; and Dorothy Davis. Others present were: Dr. Tracy Tucker, Superintendent; Dr. Kieth Williams and Mr. Mitch Walton with McPherson & Jacobson.
The purpose of this meeting was to go over the applicants for the Superintendent position. Mr. Williams gave a list of three possible applicants that have expressed an interest in becoming the next Superintendent of the Hermitage School District.
Each candidate recommended by McPherson & Jacobson was discussed. The recommended candidates were (in alphabetical order): Dr. Leann Pinkerton, LaDonna Spain, and Gina Richard.
The Board went into Executive Session to review a 3 minute video presentation from each candidate.
The board came out of Executive Session.

The unanimous decision was made to accept the recommendations from McPherson & Jacobson and interview all three finalists.
Dr. Leann Pinkerton on May 15 at 5:00 PM;
LaDonna Spain on May 16 at 5:00 PM; and
Gina Richard on May 16 at 7:30 PM.
Dr. William discussed a Phase 5 Program, which would involve the work of McPherson & Jacobson, Board Members, and the Superintendent in the setting of personal and district goals and the creation of a strategic plan. A motion to proceed with this work before the end of June at a cost of $1500 and to establish the interview candidates and schedule was made by Kevin Reep. The second was made by Gary Vines. The motion passed 7-0.
There was also discussion about the number of years for a contract for the Superintendent and the compensation to be offered.
A letter of resignation was read from Rosalynda Ellis. The motion to accept the resignation was made by Kevin Reep. The second was made by Reia Thomas. The motion passed 7-0.
The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Dorothy Davis. The second was made by Reia Thomas. The motion passed 7-0.
