The serene surroundings of Moro Bay State Park in Bradley County, Arkansas, came alive with excitement on Saturday, July 29th, as anglers gathered for the Moro Bay Bass Shootout, a memorable tournament organized by Chad Herman and Chad Herman Fishing in honor of Becky. The event not only showcased skilled anglers but also provided a platform for children to display their casting abilities and engage in thrilling activities, while also giving back to the community.

The anglers displayed impressive fishing skills, with the duo of Scott and Aaron Terry emerging as the triumphant champions, securing the coveted first-place position. Mike and Brad Morgan exhibited commendable expertise, earning themselves the second-place spot, while Kade and Jake Weaver secured a well-deserved third place. Kade Weaver further demonstrated his talent by clinching the title of Big Bass, reeling in a remarkable fish weighing in at nearly 6 pounds.

The event also offered a casting contest for kids, where young participants had the chance to demonstrate their fishing skills. The organizers ensured that everyone felt like a winner, with great door prizes adding to the fun-filled atmosphere. Additionally, the event served as a charitable platform, raising funds for the noble cause of supporting the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Apart from the Bass Shootout, Moro Bay State Park also hosted its first day camp last week, providing a unique opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the wonders of nature. The young campers enjoyed a range of activities, including swimming, hiking, and engaging in nature-related crafts. The enthusiastic group of children playfully named themselves the “Day Camp Mud Monsters,” which perfectly captured their spirit of adventure and excitement.

The Day Camp Mud Monsters had a blast, and the park announced that they’ll be hosting a second camp from August 1st to August 3rd. There are still available spots. Kids ages 7 to 12 are invited to join for three days of fun and learning at just $60.
