Lumberjack Golf team takes top honors at Crossett Tournament to open the season

CROSSETT, Ark. – In a remarkable start to their season, the Warren High School (WHS) golf team secured a resounding victory on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. The pristine fairways and greens of the Prairie Country Club in Crossett provided the backdrop for this impressive display of skill and teamwork.

Standing out among the players was Rhett Clanton, who delivered an exceptional performance with a score of 69. Clanton’s precision and strategic play not only earned him accolades but also set the tone for Warren’s overall dominance in the tournament.

Maxx McGaha and Landon Milton showcased their dedication to the team’s success with scores of 86 and 87, respectively. Their consistent play contributed significantly to Warren’s triumph, highlighting the depth of talent within the team.

Carson Slaughter’s impressive score of 73 further solidified Warren’s position at the top of the leaderboard. Collectively, their efforts led to a total team score of 228, firmly securing the first-place position in the tournament.

Hamburg and Magnolia each also competed.

On the girls’ side of the tournament, Tori Milton of Crossett won with a low score of 72.
