MONTICELLO, Ark. – In a recent tennis matchup on Thursday, August 31, 2023, the Warren Lumberjack Tennis team squared off against the Monticello Billies, with Coach Micah Richey providing his insights on the performance.
Coach Richey acknowledged that they faced a formidable opponent in Monticello, stating, “We played a very good Monticello Tennis team tonight.” While the team as a whole may not have emerged victorious, there were standout moments that deserve recognition.
Ava Denton proved to be the standout player of the day for the Warren Lumberjack Tennis team. Denton managed to secure a victory in a ranked match, displaying her skill and determination on the court. Coach Richey praised her progress, saying, “She has made huge improvements in a very short amount of time,” a testament to her hard work and dedication to the sport.
In addition to her singles success, Denton teamed up with Presley Reep to secure a win in an exhibition doubles match.
Denton was named the Saline River Chronicle Player of the Day.
