In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, approximately 1,200 Arkansas Baptists from all corners of the state descended upon Southeast Arkansas this past Saturday for the Acts 1:8 Missions Experience. Hosted by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, this one-day mission trip turned out to be a day filled with hope, community, and service.
Event organizers were overwhelmed by the turnout as more than 1,400 individuals from the region signed in and actively participated in various events. The City of Warren, in particular, played a central role in this heartwarming endeavor.
Community Bonding and Fun in Warren
Multiple churches came together to organize a range of activities for the locals. Block parties were held at Immanuel Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church, featuring games, music, cookouts, and more. First Baptist Church also went the extra mile by offering bouncy houses and a free car wash.
Food distribution for those in need was a priority at First Baptist Church and Grace Cowboy Church.
Children’s Activities at 512 Bond St in Warren and 314 Sycamore St in Banks were a hit among young ones. Craft activities, games, and more were on offer, bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families.
No Sale Yard Sale and Sports Galore
Macedonia Baptist Church, Grace Cowboy Church, and First Baptist Church held a unique “No Sale Yard Sale.” This concept allowed individuals to take what they needed without any cost attached, fostering a sense of generosity and sharing within the community.
Sports enthusiasts had their share of fun at the Warren Sports Complex, where a Baseball and Softball Camp took place. Axley Field on Seminary Street hosted multiple sports events, accompanied by a Bible Study. The event at Axley Field was organized by Fellowship Baptist Church members from Witcherville, Arkansas.
Healthcare and Community Care Services
Hope Place Pregnancy Care Center at 212 W Central St in Warren offered a variety of community care services, including the distribution of diapers and wipes, haircuts, and showers to those in need. The center’s mission to provide essential care services was met with gratitude by the local residents.
Meanwhile, in Monticello, the First Baptist Church hosted a Medical-Dental Clinic. This vital clinic provided dental extractions, dental cleanings, and the expertise of an on-site physician, ensuring that crucial healthcare needs were met.
