Eddie Wayne Parnell, Sr., age 81 passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at The Springs of El Dorado in El Dorado, AR. He was born on July 3, 1942 in Bradley County, AR to the late Eli Edward Parnell and Eltekeh Grider Parnell. Eddie was a member of Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. He was a welder, a volunteer firefighter, worked for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and a member of the Quorum Court.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Taunton.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Owens Parnell of Warren, AR; son, Eddie Wayne Parnell, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Warren, AR; step-grandson, Dusty Jester and wife Jessica of Warren, AR and step-great grandchildren, Dalton Jester and Jaylee Jester.
Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Frazer’s Funeral Home with Bro. Sidney McGraw officiating. Burial was in Crossroads Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Veterans Museum; 210 N Main St. Warren, AR 71671.
