The following are the complete minutes from the November Re-New-ing Edinburg meeting:
Roger McClellan, President, called the meeting to order and minutes of the previous minutes were passed out. Motion was made by Trenna Kemp, seconded by Don Triplett, to accept minutes as presented.
Linda Hornaday presented the financial statement and after a brief discussion it will be filed for audit.
Roger informed the group that he and Bobby Chambers had placed an additional 15 bricks in the Veterans Park. There is currently only room for four more bricks in the current park and in the upcoming months the group will need to decide whether to extend the park or not to accept any more bricks.

After the success of the Great AR Junk Hunt, the group discussed whether to participate in the “spring hunt” which will be held March 7, 8, 9 and will make a final decision on whether to participate after the first of the year.
The Cleveland County Veterans luncheon was held at the fairgrounds on October 28 with approximately 200 people attending. At the event, Roger visited with local legislators, Ben Gilmore and Sondra Barker, and Ms. Barker has donated 12 flags to the veterans of Cleveland County.
Re-New-ing Edinburg participated in the Great American Pickup by picking up 20 miles of roadway, 25 bags of trash with 12 individuals picking up trash in the New Edinburg area.
The fall festival candy giveaway was held at the community center on October 28 and a fun time was enjoyed by all attending.
Santa Claus will be visiting the community center on December 15 and December 16 from 5:30 p.m-7:30 p.m. Motion was made by Melody Spears, seconded by Larry Waldrop, for the group to purchase an individual Christmas ornament to be given to each family visiting Santa. Motion passed. Motion was made by Linda Hornaday, seconded by Larry Waldrop to donate $700 to the community center for the purchase of toys to be distributed during Santa’s visit. Motion passed. Re-New-ing Edinburg will once again pass out cookies, candy and hot chocolate to those attending. Motion was made by Kathy Waldrop, seconded by Trenna Kemp, to sponsor a photo contest with $100, $50 and $25 given as prizes. Details of the contest will be posted on the group’s Facebook page after Thanksgiving.
Motion was made by David Kemp, seconded by Luis Talono, to donate $200 to the community center in reimbursement of electricity used by the Veterans Park and street sign which were installed at the center by Re-New-ing Edinburg. Motion passed.
Motion was made and seconded to hold a volunteer appreciation potluck on January 16. Motion passed.
Motion was made to keep current officers of Roger McClellan, President; Linda Hornaday, treasurer; Patricia McClellan, secretary, Kathy Waldrop, information officer. Motion passed. David Kemp nominated Martha Talono for Vice Present, seconded by Larry Waldrop. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned until January 16 as there will be no December meeting.
