Bernice M. Hampton, 1936-2023

Bernice M. Hampton, 87, of Little Rock, passed away November 30, 2023. Born April 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Artie Hampton. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Hampton Chapel AME Church.

Bernice attended Vicks Elementary School and graduated from Tillis High School in Portland, AR. She worked for several years at United Friends Hospital, Ottenheimer Brothers Manufacturing Co., Denny’s Restaurant and later at Presbyterian Village as a Certified Nursing Assistant until retirement in April 2008.

She was a member of Lee Chapel AME Church in North Little Rock where she served in the Lee Chapel Mass Choir and Beautification Club until her health began to fail. She graduated from the Agape School of World Evangelism Laymen’s School, class of 1999.

Bernice was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald Eugene Morgan; eleven siblings; four sisters-in-love and great grandson, Josiah Immanuel Williams.

She is survived by her children, Adrian Johnson Sr., Tanya Parker; grandchildren, Adrian Johnson Jr., Jasmine Hill; daughter-in-love, Gina Foster; sister-in-love, Vera Hampton; extended families-in-love, Johnsons, Parkers; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was December 9 at Greater Hampton Chapel AME Church in Johnsville with Rev. Isaiah Walker officiating and Rev. Marcia Burns eulogist. Burial in Hampton Cemetery, Johnsville. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
