WARREN, Ark. – The 30th Annual Martin Luther King Banquet took place at the St. James AME Church in Warren on Saturday, January 27, 2024, bringing together the community to celebrate and honor outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions.

Honorees in the Spotlight:
The banquet shone a spotlight on three remarkable individuals who have demonstrated dedication and excellence in their respective fields:
- Miss India Young: A college student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Miss Young was recognized for her achievements in academia and her commitment to community service.
- Mrs. Anita Jenner: The owner of Madea’s Family Restaurant, Mrs. Jenner was acknowledged for her entrepreneurial spirit and contributions to the local business community.
- Bo Hembree: The Warren Lumberjack Football Coach and Athletic Director received recognition for his outstanding leadership and positive impact on the local sports scene.



Special Tributes:
Several special tributes were made during the event, including:
- Warren Police Chief Shaun Hildreth: He was honored with the Distinguished Service Award for his exemplary service to the community.
- Golden Girls: The local business award was bestowed upon this esteemed group for their contributions to the economic development of the area.
- Angela Marshall: Recognized for her dedication to education, Angela Marshall received an award acknowledging her outstanding contributions in the field.



Everette Wallace Honored for 30 Years of Service:
The event paid a heartfelt tribute to Everette Wallace, the organizer of the MLK Banquet for the past 30 years. Wallace’s dedication and commitment to organizing this significant community gathering were celebrated by all in attendance.
