WARREN, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjack Men’s Basketball team faced a challenging night in their second 8-4A Conference game of the season against Stuttgart on Friday, January 5, 2024. Despite their best efforts, the Lumberjacks couldn’t secure the win in their home opener, falling to the Ricebirds by the final of 67-55.

1st Quarter: Warren Shows Early Promise
Warren started the game on a positive note with quick contributions from Antonio Jordan and Cam Burks. Five different players got in on the scoring in the opening period. However, Stuttgart managed to take an early lead, finishing the first quarter with a score of 18-11 in their favor.
2nd Quarter: Jordan and Burks Keep the Momentum
David Jordan continued his excellent form from the first quarter, adding another 4 points to his tally. Antonio Jordan stepped up with a couple of crucial three-pointers, but Warren found themselves trailing 34-23 at halftime.

3rd Quarter: Struggling to Find the Basket
Warren faced a scoring slump in the third quarter, with only three players managing to record baskets from the field. Tramond Miller provided a spark with a three-pointer, but Stuttgart extended their lead to 47-34.
4th Quarter: Late Rally Falls Short
Warren made a late push in the final quarter, with Miller scoring a transition basket and Antonio Jordan delivering an emphatic dunk. The deficit was cut to 8 points with 5:38 remaining, but despite Jordan’s three-pointer, Warren couldn’t complete the comeback. Jordan fouled with a few minutes remaining on a busted inbounds play. Warren ultimately lost 67-55.
Coach Anders Aims to Improve Team Energy
Postgame Coach Joseph Anders addressed the team’s performance. “Did not like our team energy,” he told Saline River Chronicle. “We will fix that,” he said. “It takes more to compete in Conference.”
The Lumberjacks now hold a 2-2 overall record and stand at 1-1 in the 8-4A.
