This Lumberjack game report is brought to you by:
The Eagles (4-3, 1-1) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but Warren (4-2, 1-2) struck back to tie the game at 2-2 with a two-run double by AJ Jordan in the top of the second. The Jacks then took the lead in the top of the third with Ervin Rivera driving in a run to push the score to 3-2.
The tally remained that way until the bottom of the fifth inning when Crossett exploded for 7 runs to move in front 9-3. The Eagles would then score four more in the bottom of the sixth after holding Warren scoreless in the top half to clinch a 13-3 victory.
Crossett outhit the Orange and Black 11-4, while both teams committed three errors. Jordan and Jackson Denton both hit a double for the Jacks with Nathan Spears and Rivera picking up the other hits. Kolby Pope, Rivera, and Denton scored the runs for Warren.
Rivera started on the mound and pitched well until the fifth inning. The senior allowed seven runs (five earned) on six hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Ren Reep and Spears also saw time on the bump. Crossett pitching only struck out one Warren batter, but only issued one walk.
The Lumberjacks look to right the ship against Star City in a game that has been bumped up to tomorrow (Wednesday, March 13). First pitch from the Warren Sports Complex is set for 5 p.m.
