The following are the complete minutes from the recent Re-New-ing Edinburg meeting:
Martha Talano, Vice President, welcomed those in attendance and called the meeting to order. The minutes were passed out to those attending and motion was made by Melody Spears, seconded by Shelia Towery, to accept minutes as presented. Motion passed.
Linda Hornaday, Treasurer, presented the financial statement and after a brief discussion, it will be filed for audit.
Under old business, Melody Spears gave a report on the community center fish fry and thanked everyone for their participation.

Discussion was held concerning the group’s participation in the Great South Arkansas junk hunt. Even though the weather was wet and cold, money was made and the group expended 82 ½ hours of volunteer time preparing and working the junk hunt. A general cleanup of items unsold will be completed over the next couple of weeks. Melody Spears mentioned that additional money may be made by contacting individuals who purchase excess garage sale items.
The Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for March 24 at 2 p.m. Kathy Waldrop requested volunteers for the various games scheduled including the bouncy ball race (Linda Hornaday), spoon/egg race (Patricia McClellan), bubble table (Judy Moring), cupcake walk (Luis & Martha Talano), bean bag/football toss (Kathy Waldrop & Shelia Towery). Cupcakes will be provided by Patricia, Linda, Judy, Shelia and Martha. The group will set up for the event Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and meet at 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
A game night has been scheduled for April 12 at 6:00 p.m. at the New Edinburg Community Center. Attendees are requested to bring their favorite game plus finger foods.
Motion was made and seconded to participate in the Great American Cleanup scheduled throughout the state March 1 through May 31. Motion passed. Re-New-ing Edinburg will concentrate on clean up the month of April in anticipation of the All School Reunion scheduled at the New Edinburg Community Center on April 27. A limited number of trash bags and t-shirts are available upon request.
Upcoming events throughout the county include the Arkansas Homesteading conference at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 23, and First Sunday Lunch at the fairgrounds Sunday, April 7.
The next meeting will be April 16 at 6 p.m. Motion was made by Shelia Towery to adjourn, seconded by David Kemp. Motion passed.
