1st Annual Hermitage Fire Department Catfish Tournament Fundraiser to draw anglers to Moro Bay State Park

HERMITAGE, Ark. – Anglers are gearing up for the 1st Annual Hermitage Fire Department Catfish Tournament Fundraiser, set to take place at Moro Bay State Park on June 1, 2024. Organized by the Hermitage Fire Department, this event promises an evening of fishing fun while supporting a worthy cause.

The tournament welcomes two adults per boat, and children are encouraged to join in on the excitement. Registration is priced at $50.00 per boat, with participants reminded that only poles are allowed for fishing. Anglers are required to sign in at the boat ramp starting at 5:30 PM, with the official start time slated for 6:00 PM. The weigh-in is scheduled for 11:00 PM, and each boat is limited to a catch of three fish.

One of the key rules of the tournament is that all fish must be alive at the time of weigh-in. To accommodate large catches that may struggle to stay alive until weigh-in, organizers have offered to meet participants and weigh these fish on video.

Excitement is high as participants vie for the top positions. The first and second-place winners will each receive prestigious plaques in recognition of their fishing skills. Additionally, there will be a special plaque awarded to the angler who lands the biggest fish of the tournament.

For those with inquiries or seeking further information, the Hermitage Fire Department provides the following contacts:

  • Jeremy: 870-723-5401
  • Troy: 870-308-5624

Anglers and supporters alike are encouraged to mark their calendars for this inaugural event, combining a love for fishing with community spirit and support for the Hermitage Fire Department’s important work.
