Moro Bay State Park Announces Exciting Summer Events

MORO BAY, Ark. – Moro Bay State Park is gearing up for an action-packed summer with a variety of exciting events and activities for visitors of all ages. Here are some highlights to look forward to:

Perch Jerk Fishing Tournament

The highly anticipated Perch Jerk Fishing Tournament will take place on July 20, 2024. Registration is now open for this two-person team event, which features both bream and crappie divisions. Early registration, available until July 14th, costs $30. This is a fantastic opportunity for fishing enthusiasts to showcase their skills and compete for prizes. Free Fishing Weekend

Mark your calendars for June 7th to 9th, 2024, for a Free Fishing Weekend. During these dates, no fishing license is required to fish at Moro Bay State Park. This is a perfect chance for both seasoned anglers and beginners to enjoy fishing without the usual permit requirements.

Boating Education Class

A Boating Education class will be held on June 15, 2024. This class is mandatory for anyone born on or after January 1, 1986, who wishes to operate a boat. The course is not recommended for children younger than sixth grade, as an 80% score is required to pass the test. Interested participants should sign up early as space is limited. Park Amenities

Moro Bay State Park is well-equipped to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit. The marina currently offers worms and crickets for fishing, as well as ice, snacks, drinks, and fuel for resale. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of these amenities during their stay.

Regular Weekend Programming

Throughout the summer, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, the park will offer a variety of programs, tours, and activities most weekends. A detailed flyer listing the Memorial Holiday weekend events is attached, and information about these programs can also be found on the Arkansas State Parks website. Visitors can also call the park or stop by the visitor center to get the latest updates on upcoming events. Please note that boat tours require pre-registration due to limited space.
