Today, Mainline Health Systems, Inc., a federally qualified health center (FQHC) in Arkansas, was announced as one of only eight community health centers selected to participate in the National Innovation Incubator program in partnership with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the global healthcare company Abbott. Each center will create and test a new idea to expand access to healthy foods and improve health for patients, regardless of their ability to pay for health services.Over the coming months, Mainline Health Systems, Inc. will receive funding and guidance from experts at Abbott and other organizations to improve the health and nutrition of pregnant mothers through a pilot program expanding access to healthy foods through home-based hydroponic plants and maternal-focused community farmers markets.
