The following are the complete minutes from the June 2024 Re-New-ing Edinburg Meeting:
Roger McClellan, President, welcomed those in attendance and called the meeting to order. The minutes of the May meeting were previously emailed to members, but also passed out to those in attendance. Motion was made by Melody Spears, seconded by Linda Hornaday, to accept minutes as presented. Motion passed.
Linda Hornaday, Treasurer, presented the financial statement and with no corrections or additions and it will be filed for audit.
During Emergency Services week, Re-New-ing Edinburg provided Subway sandwiches, chips and cookies to our local Ambulance Service employees who are based in Rison to thank them for their dedicated service to our community.
In the May meeting, Re-New-ing Edinburg scheduled its’ annual Back to School Splash for August 10, 2024, at the New Edinburg Community Center. Brenda Triplett made a motion to conduct the event similar to last year with two separate age-appropriate water slides, free snow cones, hot dogs, chips and drinks. The motion was seconded by Dave Kemp and following a brief discussion, the motion carried. The event will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The 2025 All School Reunion is scheduled for April 26, 2025, keeping the date the last Saturday in April. Roger indicated Dorey’s Catering services has agreed to cater the event with a catfish and chicken buffet similar to this year. Please mark the date and invite teachers, fellow classmates and friends to attend.
Martha Tolano made a motion to schedule the next game night at the New Edinburg Community Center on July 26, 2024 at 6:00 pm., seconded by Linda Hornaday. Motion carried. Everyone is invited to participate in this free event. Attendees are ask to bring a snack to share and enjoy the fun and games.
Motion was made and seconded to adjourn. Motion passed. The next meeting will be held July 16th at
6 pm. Meetings are open to the public and everyone is invited to attend.
